I am sitting in our little cottage in Hollywood Beach holding my beautiful baby girl. Almost 9 months ago I was mourning the loss of my son. I was confused. I was scared. I wasn't sure what I was going to do. But I knew I had to go on. I had a wonderful husband and 3 precious boys who wanted and needed me to get back to being me. The new me none-the-less, but me. It was hard. Boy, was it hard but I asked, no I begged, I pleaded for the Lord to help me, to show me how to do that. The best way for ME to do that. Little by little, He did just that. I began seeing things in a different light. I saw things in me and in other people that I hadn't noticed before, some good, some bad. Life took on a whole new meaning. Things I had seen before but never noticed became breathtaking.
This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
When Chris and I decided to start praying about adoption again, we dusted off our old information. We prayed about the timing and then we decided it was time to move forward. We didn't realize how much of a roller coaster ride in itself we were about to experience. We had our profile shown to prospective birth mothers. Each time just asking God to open doors that were meant to be open and trusting Him completely. Each time we weren't chosen we couldn't help but be a little disappointed but always knew it was for the best. When we were chosen, we prayed for that child as if she were already ours. We prayed for the birth mom and built a relationship with her to the best of our ability. When she suddenly and unexpectedly decided to keep her baby, we were heartbroken. Chris and I both said, though, one day this will all make better sense.....it has to. After the fall through there were a few more (3 to be exact) situations that were SO close to happening. One was so close we were on the phone with the airline when we found out the agency had made a "mistake" and it wasn't going to happen. Shortly after that, we got "the call" about our Jossalyn. PRAISE GOD! It does make better sense now. Had any of those other situations happened, I would be sitting here holding this precious child.
**I have been sending out pictures of Jossalyn like crazy. Today a picture was sent to me. It was a very emotional picture actually. It's our bundle. We finally have our bundle of JOY......
