Can I get a "WOO-HOO" for the poo-poo!

I am PROUD to announce that Caden pooped in the potty today. Yes it was the first time that either of them have successfully, completely pooped in the potty and I am THRILLED. They have been in underwear all day every day other than nap and bedtime for a week or so but neither of them have pooped in the potty. Where, you ask, have they been pooping? Well, I will leave that to the imagination. But let's just say, good thing Mommy doesn't have a weak tum-tum! So, all together now, let me get a WOO-HOO for the POO-POO!

I just "copied and pasted" this from an arthritis site. It sort of makes me happy. Please, please pray that I can be one of these people that only has a SINGLE attack. I might see that light at the end of the tunnel again......if this is my SINGLE attack, then it may not be so bad after all!

Outcomes
Many people with polymyositis and dermatomyositis respond well to treatment. Some people only have a single attack of the disease and are able to stop taking medications after about a year.

You never know! And, by the way, don't ask what the next part said. We don't want to talk about that...let's just focus on the positive!

Things that make you go Hmmmmm...

Some of you know that I went to the Dr. yesterday for blood work to see how my levels are. Unfortunately, they have risen back over 1100. The Dr. is "baffled" and I am just frustrated for lack of a better word. I feel better than I have in a while. I have been exercising more and eating better and taking ALL gazillion of my meds just like I am supposed to. I really thought my levels were going to be better this time. The nurse said there is a possibility (a teeny tiny one) that this could have been a "fluke". I don't know how much I believe that BUT I am going back in 4 weeks to have my levels done again. In the meantime, my prednisone will stay at 10mg a day (yay.....I'm SO kidding) and my methotrexate will be increased to 10 pills a week (no, that's not a typo, 10). I pray this will work and my levels will get down to what they consider "normal" for me. I also pray that my levels will STAY down so I can come off of ALL this mess sooner rather than later. I sure am taking a load of meds for a person who never even liked to take tylenol! I did make an appointment to see the Dr. at Duke that I saw earlier this year. That appointment is in November. Maybe she can shed some light on this for me!

WOW!!

I can't believe I have a 5 year old and 2 3 year olds! The past two days has been fun-filled and super busy but I think the boys had great birthday's! Yesterday (Jaxon's birthday) we went to Longhorn for lunch where they had a chocolate stampede for dessert then we went to Chuck-e-Cheese for dinner. Today (Camron and Caden's birthday) we went to "chickalay" for lunch where they had ice cream for dessert then we went to Tex and Shirley's for an all you can eat pancake dinner. After Jaxon got out of Sparks tonight, we took them to Brusters for, yes that's right, MORE ice cream! These kids have had it made for the past 2 days! Wonder what they are going to think tomorrow when I start saying "no" again! We also went out to Women's Hospital this morning and delivered a BIG YUMMY cake for the NICU staff in appreciation for everything they did for C and C 3 years ago! It was funny tonight when I was putting their jammies on, they were sleeping in their March of Dimes shirts with their "actual" footprints from when they were 1-2 wks old. Their foot now is almost 4 times bigger. It's crazy to think they were that small! I am SO thankful for the health of ALL of my boys! God is SO good!

Birthday Party

Well, we had another successful birthday party for the boys today. We downsized a bit b/c of our animal guests but it was GREAT and the boys LOVED it! I will post a slide show so you can see the fun time we had! Jaxon wanted an animal adventure party so we had the Creature Teacher come out and she was AWESOME! She brought a snake, chinchilla, baby opossum, and a skunk! The kids got to touch the animals and Jaxon even got to hold them! She taught us interesting facts about the animals too! Camron and Caden wanted a Thomas the Train party so we had Thomas cupcakes and plates for them!

Is there such a thing?

I am searching for a boot camp for potty training! Is there such a thing? If not, I think I need to create one! My boys just don't want to be potty trained! They go to the potty, yes, BUT I have to stay on them like stink on poo (No, pun intented..heehee)!
We made the decision today that the last of the pull-ups have been purchased (other than for night-night time of course). They WILL be potty trained before these pull-ups are gone...or else. Or else what you ask? Or else Mommy will be doing a whole lot of laundry, I guess! Maybe I should have let Jaxon teach them since he pretty much taught himself (with some coaching from Grandma) by the time he was 2! Oh well, they will get it...eventually!

My $3 Fridge!

Some of you may not know this but we have not had a refrigerator since the Thursday before we went to the beach...which was a LONG time ago to not have a fridge. The man came to fix it last Monday. His job was to replace the compressor because it was still under warranty (thank the Lord!). Weeeell, while he was here to replace it, he broke it even more.....and this time it was irreplaceable. They told us we could go choose a new one and they gave us a dollar amount. Anything we spent over that $ amount, we had to pay out of pocket. We chose a new one and were under the impression we would be paying $100-$150. The nice gentleman rings us up, looks at me and says, "Your total is $3, ma'am." I said, "EXCUSE ME??", and he repeated himself so we paid $3 for a brand spankin' new side by side fridge with an ice maker and water filter in the door! YAY!

FYI

The last post must have jinxed me. We had to have a mandatory evacuation of Jaxon's room this morning during school. Yes, there was a pile of poo that had to be cleaned up before classes could resume. No, friends, the poo was not that of Maggie the big black dog. It was the poo of Camron. It was a bit traumatic for us all but we made it through in one piece. The cutest part of the entire situation was when Caden offered to clean it up for me.

Good day!

I don't know why I am posting this b/c tomorrow may not be something to brag about BUT, Camron and Caden wore big boy undies today and had NO accidents! Caden even stayed dry during nap! I am super excited to at least be taking baby steps in the right direction. I am just going to keep putting them in underwear every day and I figure they will eventually get it!
On a yuckier note, I am a little frustrated right now b/c I am having to re-wash an entire stack of clean shirts that were laying on my bed waiting patiently to be hung up b/c my darling cat threw up on them. (note to self: hang the shirts up right away so cat won't have opportunity to throw up on them)
Oh, and Maggie hasn't pooped in the house since before we left for the beach (knock on wood)either so that is another good thing!
One more thing before I go to bed (b/c I am exhausted)...I mowed our front yard today and have officially decided that all lawn mowers should be self propelled. The one like we have is FOR THE BIRDS!

As I listen to the waves break....

We are at the beach and it is absolutely beautiful! I have taken lots of pictures and will post them once we are home! The weather is great, the water is warm, the kids are having a blast....everything is wonderful! Hurricane Hannah is lurking so pray that we don't get caught in that mess, although, I believe it is threatening home as much as it is here!
Anyway, just wanted to add a quick post! Hope you are all well!
