Jaxon's surgery

Here are a few pictures from today. Jaxon did GREAT. I was so proud of him...(and quite proud of Mommy too to be honest). He was given versed (sp) before so he was nice and relaxed. Our friend Todd, who works there part time, was also there which helped A LOT (thanks again Todd!!).
Jaxon was SO funny after the medicine, I was crying I was laughing so hard. I just wish I had a video camera!
He did feel really yucky once the surgery was over. If he's anything like his Mommy, anesthesia makes us nauseous! He is up and playing his DS right now!

Jaxon's 1/2 birthday

Jaxon is 5 1/2 today! Happy 1/2 Birthday to JAXON! I usually make a cake to cut in half BUT obviously today has been a little different so we bought one. It was still yummy and we still had fun!

Funny Story Friday

I have to post a picture for today's funny....It alone is hilarious. I know Jaxon would probably be REALLY mad if he knew I was posting this but it was the first funny thing that came to my mind when I got ready to blog today....

The boys went to sleep side by side but when I went to check on them, this is what I found. I personally think this is "pee in your pants" funny. Let me know what you think!

"I'll be REVIVED"

I had the wonderful opportunity to spend this weekend at Camp Caraway in Sophia, NC at a women's retreat with my church. It was so refreshing and fun and just all around "grrrrreat"!
Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Funny Story Friday

Last year, we did a service project for MOPS where we made onsesies for a group of young Mom's. I was in charge of printing the iron-on decals for the onesies. Nana helped me with this the night before we needed them. Well, of course I forgot them the morning of, so I called Nana to save the day and go get them and bring them to church. I called her at work and frantically said "Mom, I need you to go to my house because I left the iron-on's" She sounded a little frustrated but said okay. A little while later I hadn't heard from her and it was getting close to our "craft" time so I called. When she answered I said "Mom, where are you?" and she replied "JENN, I HAVE LOOKED ALL OVER YOUR HOUSE AND I CAN'T FIND YOUR IRON ON ANYWHERE!!!"
HAHAHA.....She thought I had left my iron on and needed her to go turn it off! We ALL got a good laugh out of that!

Funny Story Friday

I love this one. Many of you know it already but I promise you will laugh no matter how many times you have heard it....If you don't, I worry about you!
When Jaxon was very young, around 18 months old, we taught him the correct names for male and female "parts". I personally think it's important for kids to know what parts are called..anyway, not important. SO, long story short, when Jaxon was about 20 months old, he was getting into the shower with Chris when he looks up at him and says "Daddy, why's your 'bagina' hangin' out?" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...I LOVE IT!

Temper Tantrum

When Camron and Caden don't get their way, they sometimes lay in the floor, kicking and screaming. Do you ever feel like doing that? Well, I do. To be quite honest, I wish I could do it right now. I'm not getting my way. I used to be the kind of girl who HAD to be in control. Don't get me wrong, I still like to know what's coming and plan accordingly BUT I have succumbed to the fact that I didn't write this book. I wasn't even asked to help with the editing. I can, though, submit. I can surrender. I can give in. But, I will NOT give up! That's just not my style. PSALM 118:5-6 says "out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on MY side; I will NOT fear. What can man do to me?" Polymyositis will NOT get the best of me! This disease will NOT hinder my faith! Then, JEREMIAH 29:11 says "for I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." As much as I wish my life hadn't taken some of the turns it has, I am forever thankful for the blessings I have been given thus far. I know that God has a bigger plan for me and that one day I will "get" it. I don't understand, right now, at this moment, why I have this disease or why none of the medications I have been given seem to work BUT what I do know is that I will be fine, I will survive, and I will come out on top! I covet all of your prayers. Please pray for wisdom. Wisdom in me as well as the doctors! Pray that this will be figured out and we will find a treatment that will work. My levels may be on the rise but guess what, so is my hope...and that's a good thing!
