Oak Island 2011-Day 2

Once again, she loves the sand....I'm sure we'll be seeing it later. She ate quite a bit...lol!


Jaxon made a super cute turtle out of sand and shells. He also made a turtle baby and an alligator!


What would a day be without a little baseball? Yes, the ocean was the outfield!

Day 2 has been loads of fun! We lost Robin (you know, Batman's sidekick) to the waves. Oh, yeah, and Daddy-O's finger brace too. Wait, did I mention that at Chris's game last Monday he broke his finger? Yeah, well, he did. Now back to the beach...hehe! Between the 8 of us, we played in the sand, rode the waves, ate some sand, read our books, played baseball, took some naps (ahem, not Mommy) and lots lots more! We are having a great time! Tomorrow Grandma and Papa come! YAY!

Oak Island 2011-Day 1

Look at this beach beauty! Joss loves the sand! She had no complaints at all! We'll see if this continues! :)

Day 2 is well under way so I am off to see what fun we might have today!

This is too cute not to share! I laugh when I think about what must go on inside the minds of babies! This blessed little girl has 3 big brothers who love her and dote over her constantly. It is precious to watch. They are always teaching her new things and once she learns something, they practice with her over and over (and over) again!

Waiting Here for You

This afternoon it was fairly quiet in my house...(as quiet as it gets around here I guess ;)). I was getting Jossalyn down for her afternoon nap, Caden and Jaxon were playing nicely in the playroom and a 2 year old friend was napping in the boys room. (Camron was at the water park with a buddy). All of a sudden, the house began to shake. At first I thought it was Air Force 1 doing their practice run. But it lasted longer than that normally does. Then I thought it sounded like a tornado was coming. It wasn't until a few minutes later when my Mom called that I realized we had felt tremors from an earthquake that occurred in Virginia. An earthquake? On the east coast? Apparently not so unheard of based on history but not normal as far as I'm concerned!
I rarely watch the news. I rarely watch much TV period these days. But of course I tuned in. The news was covering 2 main stories, the problems in the Middle East and the 5.9 earthquake felt on the majority of the east coast!
Once Camron came home, the boys asked me lots of questions about the earthquake and we began discussing Jesus' return.
*****Fast forward to hours later when the kids and I were on our way home from grocery shopping*****
The song Waiting Here For You, by Christy Nockels came on. I really enjoy this song. It gives me goose bumps. The chorus says,

I couldn't help but think about my earlier conversation with my boys as I look in the back seat and they are all singing along.
This is how we should be.

Jesus is coming back again.
It could be sooner, rather than later.

The boys began Co-Op classes at CBC last Monday. They are really enjoying them! They are taking Lego Physics and Art. The people there are wonderful and we are so blessed to be able to be a part of such a supportive homeschool community.

I have to admit, the following picture was taken after co-op...as an after thought, when I decided to do this post. Jaxon was not even here so it's just Camron and Caden!

While getting backpacks ready and even after dropping them off (for 2 hours a week) I have time to really thank God for calling me, equipping me, and allowing me to be home with and teach these kids each day. It's the best job for me and I love that my paycheck comes in tight hugs and wet kisses!

August 22....already??

Sooo, guess who is 7 months old today??? I can hardly believe it! Miss Priss went to the dr today and got shots :(! She is weighing in at over 21 pounds! Dr. D said she looks great and all is well! She is SUCH a happy baby! She really only cries (a lot) when she's hungry! She loves her baby food and her puffs! Her smile and laugh are so contagious and can melt any heart!!

Man I love this kid!!

Moo-ving Right Along

We were excited to visit Homeland Creamery again today.

They took us on a very educational hay ride, showing us where the cows live during each stage of the "milking" process.

When we got back, we got to "help" feed this baby calf.

This is where the cows are milked at 3am and 3pm every day!

These cows were hungry! You should have seen how fast they were moo-ving ;)!


We love hanging out with our friends!

They also gave us all our own cup of ice cream. It was yummalicious! They have the BEST ice cream, chocolate milk, regular milk, etc., etc!
