Blue belts!!!!

My boys amaze me with their ability to remember their forms for the different belts as well as the verses that come along with them.  I'll be honest, when they have testing, my stomach is in knots!  They have to get out there in front of strangers and boy do they perform!  This past testing they rocked it with their green belt form, broke boards like a boss, sparred like nobody's business and recited God's word with ease.  Makes my mama heart happy!  I didn't get many pictures because I was too busy taking videos :)

"First Day of School"

As with many homeschool families, we don't necessarily have a "first day", because we are always learning something ;).  At the traditional start of the school year, or changing over of some curriculum "stuff", we make the traditional pencil cake!  This year, since food choices have changed in our home and this cake was anything but healthy, I even let them eat it for breakfast.  Yep, you heard read that correctly!  My kids ate funfetti cake for breakfast.  Go on and hand out the cool mom points ;).  I posted a cute little collage of the past pencil cakes on IG so here ya go.  I canNOT believe how my loves are growing!

Summer Fun

We have had lots of fun this summer!  We spent time with special friends and enjoyed ourselves as much as possible!  The boys went to camp with LCC again this year and LOVED it as always!  Joss and I had a few playdates while they were gone.  We went on a few adventures.  We went swimming at Grandma and Papa's pool.  It has been a very blessed summer!  I can't believe it's almost over!

Every year for Poppi's birthday, he chooses something fun for everyone, mainly the kids!  (How sweet is that!?)  With this year being the big 6-0, Nana wanted to do something special for him but include us as well.  What could be more fun than having your own personal driver and a Dodge Charger limo?

July 4th 2013

The weather has been slightly very rainy lately!  Maggie was left outside too long the other day because my hard-headed  ridiculously sweet boys weren't paying attention and she got a little  LOT muddy.  I'm talking mud paw prints all through the already yucky playroom, all the way up the stairs where she decided to lay down and rest at the top of the stairs and she left one of those things, you know like in the movies where they trace the dead body?  Well it was like that.  But made out of mud.  And shaped like a dog.  Anyway, all that said, I had to clean the carpet and the dog, and Daddy-O had to shampoo the playroom.  So needless to say I was slightly panicky when it was time for our 4th of July cookout and the rain kept making surprise appearances throughout the day!  I even got some of that plastic stuff and made a path from the backdoor to the kitchen so people could walk on it to get to and from the bathroom!  It turned out our backyard was more like a swamp so we decided to hang out in the front.  It all worked out (as I knew it would all along ;)) and we had a great night with great folks.  It seems I never know anymore who may or may not come but we always enjoy our evening.  It is such a blessing to be able to see the fireworks from our home!  Here are a few pics from the evening.
